TERMS AND CONDITIONS
These Terms and Conditions (“T&Cs”) are in place to clarify and protect the interest of both Dan Lane Mountaineering (“We/Us”) and Clients (“You”) by way of a clear contract between the two parties. By completing a Booking Form, You have entered into a contract under the Terms and Conditions set out here.
Occasionally problems with your booking may occur. Wherever possible a solution which benefits You will be sought as a gesture of goodwill. However, it must be understood that We always reserve the right to follow the wording of these T&Cs.

BOOKING
1.1 All Participants will be required to complete a Booking Form prior to the Activity (“Activity/Course/Event”) commencing.
1.2 At the point a Booking Form is completed You have entered into a contract with Us as per the T&Cs outlined here.

PAYMENT
2.1 A 30% non-refundable Deposit will be required on completion of a Booking Form.
2.2 The Balance is due 4 weeks prior to the first day of your Course. If the Booking is received less than 6 weeks prior to the start date, a full Balance invoice will be issued.

CANCELLATION
3.1 If We are required to cancel your Course You will be offered an alternative date. If a mutually agreeable alternative date cannot be found You will be offered a full refund.
3.2 We are not responsible for any costs incurred by You (outside of Course costs) due to Our cancellation (eg, accommodation that is no longer required).
3.3 If cancellation is outside of either parties’ control (eg, extreme weather), an alternative date will be mutually agreed.
3.4 If You cancel, You must inform Us as soon as possible. If You cancel more than 4 weeks prior to the start date of your Course, your Deposit will be retained. If You cancel between 2 and 4 weeks prior to the start date your Deposit plus an additional 30% of the total cost will be retained (60% of the total). If You cancel less than 2 weeks prior to your Course start date, the full amount will be retained (100%).

INSURANCE
4.1 Dan Lane Mountaineering will ensure that We are appropriately insured for the activity being undertaken, including public liability, professional indemnity and employer’s liability insurance as required.
4.2 We strongly recommend that You hold your own suitable travel insurance to cover expenses due to cancellation, illness, equipment loss/theft, etc.

RISK AND SAFETY
5.1 The environments operated in and Activities undertaken during a Course with Dan Lane Mountaineering come with inherent risks, up to and including serious injury and death. We will do everything We can to reduce these risks, and teach You how You can do the same, however, it must be understood that these risks cannot be removed or mitigated for entirely.
5.2 Your Booking, and attendance at the Course, will be taken as You accepting the Participation Statement from the British Mountaineering Council. The Statement says, “The BMC recognises that climbing and mountaineering are activities with a danger of personal injury or death. Participants in these activities should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions.”

STAFF
6.1 All Course staff used by Dan Lane Mountaineering and will be suitably qualified for the Activity they’re instructing. These qualifications will be of an industry standard and awarded by the appropriate National Governing Body. They will also all hold relevant and current 1st aid training.
6.2 All Course staff will be members of a relevant professional association and as such will have completed the required amount of Continued Professional Development to ensure they are current and up to date.
6.3 All Course staff will use their professional judgement to deliver the best possible experience based around your desires, taking into account all factors, including but not limited to weather and venue availability.
6.4 The conditions may dictate that a change of venue, objective or activity is required. In this case, the Course may no longer be as advertised, and locations may change. We will work with You to find a suitable alternative, and discuss all options. In some cases additional costs may be incurred, such as climbing wall fees, or longer journeys to the venue. These additional costs are not included in the course cost and will need to be met by You.

MEDICAL INFORMATION
7.1 You must declare any and all known Medical Conditions, illnesses or injuries, whether professionally diagnosed or not, at the time of Booking on the Booking Form.
7.2 You must inform us of any new Medical Conditions, illnesses or injuries which arise between the submission of your Booking Form and the end of your Course.
7.3 Declaration of a Medical Condition will not necessarily exclude You from taking part in an Activity. We ask that You make us aware so that We can better support You during your Course. We may also ask You for more information to gain a better understanding, or request that You seek advice from your GP/medical professional.

WORKING WITH UNDER 18s
8.1 The majority of our Courses are designed for adult groups, however, We can facilitate Courses for Under 18s if requested.
8.2 A parent/legal guardian must be present for each Under 18.

KIT AND EQUIPMENT
9.1 You will be provided with a kit list prior to a Course. Failure to bring suitable essential equipment may mean the course objective has to be changed.
9.2 We will provide technical equipment as required.
9.3 You are welcome to bring your own technical equipment. Our instructor will check it for suitability. If it is deemed to be unsuitable/unsafe, You will be given alternative technical equipment.
9.4 We may seek to recover from You, any costs incurred to Us through loss or damage to equipment owned by Us or our staff due to negligence by You.
