This policy outlines how Dan Lane Mountaineering collects, processes and uses any information you give us. It also outlines what we’re doing to protect your data.

By contacting us, making an enquiry or completing a booking form, you are agreeing that we will hold some information about you, which will be used as set out below. This is information which we require to deliver our activities to you in a safe and responsible manner.

We collect information in a number of ways, most notably is email communication, booking forms and conversations, however our website may collect other data in addition to this via cookies.

We require this data so that we can deliver the best possible service to you. Additionally, appropriate information will be shared with your instructor so that they can look after you as best as possible whilst you’re on an activity with us. We may also use this information to suggest other courses which may be of interest, as well as share useful tips and information (If you’d prefer not to receive this contact , please let us know by email). We may also use your information so we can support you throughout your experience with us, from initial contact to post event feedback.

We only use your data for internal purposes directly related to your course and Dan Lane Mountaineering. We do no share or sell data to anyone else. We may release essential pieces of information if required to do to by law, or an insurance case. We will also share the appropriate data if it is in the interest of safety and wellbeing.

Whilst it is very difficult to transmit and store data securely, we always endeavour to do our best. Your data will always be stored on password protected devices or servers, and any physical copies will be destroyed as soon as possible (EG, after your course has finished). If you transfer any data to us via an insecure method, this is at your own risk.

We will hold your data for as long as is required to meet our legal, financial and insurance obligations (generally 6 years), after which point, it can be destroyed.

If you believe there has been a breach in our security, please let us know as soon as possible by email.

In accordance with GDPR, you have a right to request access to any data we hold for you.
